Columbus police narcotics officers accused of distributing nearly 8 kilograms of fentanyl

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Two Columbus Police officers with the Police Drug Cartel unit were arrested and charged with crimes related to distributing nearly eight kilograms of fentanyl, the U. S. Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday. Officers Marco R. Merino, 44, of Columbus, and John J. Kotchkoski, 33, of Marengo, Ohio, allegedly were involved in distributing seven-and-a-half kilograms of fentanyl, federal prosecutors said.
